A Day At The Beach

002

We traveled to Traverse City this week to do a little shopping for school clothes and maternity clothes. Once done at the mall we headed to Leland to enjoy some time at the beach. The waves were too big for swimming, but Easton was able to get into the water far enough to enjoy the water.

The day turned out to be a beautiful day! Sunny skies, nice breeze, and turquoise blue water.

After enjoying the beach at Leland we traveled a little farther North to a beach we love to visit for Petoskey stone searching.

Our Travel Nook

Remember this {POST} when I transformed this frame into a bulletin board for my craft space?

I am now making room for BABY and clearing out my old craft space. I picked up a box of old maps at a yard sale for $2.50 and decided to use the frame to make a travel map.

My craft space has now been condensed into a little area in our upstairs hallway. I took a couple sheets of tack board and cut them to size for the frame.

and then mod podged the map to the tack board!

My audience. She had to sit there talking my ear off. She always gets curious when mom has a project going. She just turned 16 and my son turned 13 a week before her. Add in baby and that equals starting over…yikes!

I also began adding some pins with flags to pinpoint where we have traveled.

The kids love going rock collecting on Lake Michigan. Last year they collected a couple stones that were “heart” shaped. We have a little bottle of Petoskey stones that they have collected also. Above the map frame is a shadow box filled with beach glass we collected on our many trips to Lake Michigan. I posted about it {HERE}.

I love how it turned out!

Making Way For Baby

I have been busy clearing out my spare (craft) room. This will now be the nursery for out little one who is due in January 2012.

043

I have positioned my work table in the hallway upstairs. Much smaller space, but it is forcing me to really go through my stuff to make it all fit. Do you see the room at the end? That is my daughter’s room. She spent all day Sunday cleaning it! As you can see it was pretty messy. I love her dearly, but she has never been a child who kept her room clean. Always a challenge for her. I keep hoping that once she gets to be an adult she will become more organized.

044

I was busy painting picture frames on Sunday. Some of which will be a part of the nursery.

This dark turquoise color is one of the colors for the nursery. We won’t be finding out what we are having. I figured the color can go either way depending on the colors I pair it with. I have a dark pink picked out and a light green.

My creative mess! It will be pretty eventually! My energy is finally picking up, but it definitely takes me longer to get projects done right now.
