My Craft Space
One of my favorite areas in my house is my craft space. I once housed all of my craft supplies in our spare bedroom, but that has now been turned into a nursery. I then had to tuck my work table and supplies into a small alcove in the upstairs hallway. It is an eclectic mix of all sorts of things that I love.
An old red chair gives a punch of color!
Rick Rack glued to the edge of the shelf gives a little more of that red accent.
The metal organizer was found in my grandma’s barn. It houses my stamp pads and sets perfectly!
Some scrabble tiles glued to thumbtacks gives me some inspiration.
I collect pedestal milk glass urns. I love how they hold my paint brushes, markers, pens, and glue sticks.
I love vintage lace and ribbon! This {lamp shade} I covered with many of the different pieces that I had collected from many yard sales & thrift stores.
My {travel nook} is at the top of our stairs. It too has many things I love in it. A large framed map has places we have visited “pinned” on it.
A shadow box houses the beach glass that we have collected on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Small jars collect the Petoskey stones we have found!
Our feline family member wanted to be showcased too. She jumped right up on my work table and just asked to be photographed!
Such a small space is hard to keep organized mostly because I like to “dabble” in many things.

Scenes from my weekend
Scenes from my weekend….
An irritated baby…he is a little cuddle bug! Loves to be held, doesn’t like being put down for any reason.
Melting snow…again. It has been such a mild winter here in Michigan. As fast as the snow comes it melts away.
I love my great Aunt’s glass bottles sitting in the window of our staircase.
My Valentine’s rose.
It is time for the Winter décor to come down! Yesterday!
Snowcoming Dance…and my pretty daughter in her dress.

A New Momma
A new haircut, new hair color, and some new clothes do wonders for a new momma’s spirit!
After a long pregnancy and rough delivery I needed some sprucing up! I was able to get out for a little bit last week to pamper myself. I shed a few tears before leaving our little one home with Dad and Grandma and hurried home directly after finishing up my appointment, but was so happy to have a couple hours to myself to rejuvenate.
Newborn Photo Shoot
Things are beginning to have a “new” normal around here. Our little guy is two weeks old today. I am healing well and getting back into the swing of things. Gaining my independence and energy back. If you have read through any of my previous posts regarding my pregnancy you would see that the general theme of my pregnancy is that it took just took a lot out of me. Delivery of our little guy followed the same suit, a long, hard labor which never fully progress and ended in a c-section, but once we had him in our arms I wouldn’t change a thing.
Prior to our delivery day I had been gathering items from around the house to have ready for my newborn photo shoot. Yesterday I was finally able to get a photo session in with our peanut. A few of the items that I had on hand were:
White Embossed Wallpaper-used as a backdrop
Various newborn hats
A piece of white fur fabric…purchased {here}.
Burlap fabric
Bobby Pillow-used for propping Kellen up.
Bag of Sugar-used to prevent Kellen from sliding down into the Bobby pillow.
For my first time taking any form of a portrait, I love how they turned out! I will definitely be playing some more with props and ideas.

House Haven Tour: My Favorite Finds
Hi, everyone. My name is Carrie, and I blog over at My Favorite Finds. Since we moved into our dream home two years ago, I've been busy making it into a home. Room by room, we choose paint color, and then I craft and decorate according to what we've chosen. I really strive to make it a haven...a comfortable, welcoming place for our family and guests.
Right now, one of my favorite rooms is our laundry room. Strange, right? Well, since I spend so much time in there, I decided to paint it a cheery color. Then, I adorned the walls with some framed artwork my children brought home from school.
Other rooms I enjoy decorating is our children's rooms. For example, my daughter's room. She has several, one shown below, monogrammed pieces in her room. Above her closet is her name, "Natalie", in bright pink wood letters, accented with buttons to tie into the large canvas monogram I made below.
I would love for you all to stop by my blog sometime. I share the joy in everyday things through recipes, crafts, and home organizing tips. XOXOXO!
Carrie
