I just finished reading The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. I loved this book and as always I have a quote from the book that I would like to share.
"If you want to understand any woman you must first ask about her mother and then listen carefully."
"The more a daughter knows the details of her mother's life----without flinching or whining----the stronger the daughter."

Ouch. I flinch, I whine, I repeat. There is no question my relationship with my mother defines me. I pray my daughter will be able to know my story well - with no flinching and no whining.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog. It is very calming. I believe it to me very appropriately named.
Best,
