I wanted to share today one of my favorite thrift finds!

I have been on the look out for an owl cookie jar for quite a while now. I had searched Etsy over and over for one, but they were always too expensive for my taste.

Then I found this…

for this price…!

I was somewhat giddy with excitement! I couldn’t believe that what I had been looking for was right there for that price!

Just another one of the many reasons why I love thrifting!

Simple Shutter Organizer

How was your weekend?

It was a cold snowy weekend here in Michigan! The kind that make you just want to stay inside. Which is exactly what we did all weekend!

No shame in being homebodies! My introverted ways actually need full weekends at home once in awhile.

Have I ever shared how much I love to repurpose things into something new?

After hosting the Let’s Create! Jewelry Organizer Event, I had a a handful of door knobs still in my crafting supplies and needed a use for them.

I painted up a couple old shutters and added an assortment of knobs to them. I made one for me and a friend wanted one for her entry way too.

I love how they both turned out!

I hung mine by the back entrance coming into our kitchen.

It has been a great landing place as we unload coming into the house.

We use it everyday!

I wanted to share a fun, simple craft today!

Items needed:

Krylon Looking Glass Spray Paint
Mason Jars
Spray Bottle
Vinegar
Water
Paper Towel

-Mix equal parts vinegar & water into a spray bottle
-Spray mason jar with water mixture
-Quickly begin spraying mason jar with the Looking Glass Spray Paint
-Spray Paint will appear to have bubbles where the water mixture is
-Let spray paint dry on mason jar
-Once dry…lightly wipe down the jar, “popping” the bubbles from the water mixture

I just love how they turned out!

How are you? After a busy week I am enjoying a relaxing day at home!

Today I wanted to share a simple project I completed a few week ago.

A while back I picked up one of {these} round ponderosa panels

and some pretty handles.

A little trick I use for “staining” wood is watering down my favorite brown paint. I apply the watered down mixture just as I would stain by brushing it on, letting is sit for a moment, and then using a rag to wipe and spread the paint mixture. It works great without the odor of stain!

I use my tray in a variety of ways! I often have it sitting on my dining room table with a plant, candle or some other cute centerpiece.

Happy February!

As Winter drags on here in Michigan I love knowing that we are one month closer to Spring. I love the four seasons, but Winter is my least favorite. Days can be long and dark! I am definitely hoping Spring comes early!

While going through pictures from Summer, I remembered a few treats I made for our Cousin Campout party. Each year we have a big backyard campout for all the kids in our family who have summer birthdays. It is one of my favorite events of Summer!
